How Induction Cooking Works
Induction cooking works differently from gas and coil stoves - rather than generating heat and transferring that to the cooking vessel, it uses an electromagnetic field to make the cooking vessel the heat generator itself.
Because induction cooktop cooks food by using electromagnets, no heat is lost between the cooking surface and the cookware, making it highly energy-efficient and the cooking faster and safer.
Suitable Cookware
We recommend testing your cookware with the included magnet prior to cooking. If the magnet sticks to the cookware, then it can be used on the induction cooktop. Do not use any cookware that does not pass this test to avoid damages.
The cookware base should have a diameter of no less than 6 inches and no more than 10 inches.

Q: What do you know about cooktops. Also, can we mix brands of appliances in a kitchen. Neighbors just redid their kitchen with a cooktop, and put a different brand of wall oven below it. I like the mix and match approach, but my wife thinks a regular one-piece stove is best and wants everything to match. We want to redo our kitchen soon. I prefer the look of a traditional range better than a cooktop with a wall oven right below it, though if you have the space, budget and do a lot of baking, a range in addition to a wall oven (or even two. ) gives you the most flexibility.
